Inspired by the salacious pages of Pat Lawrence’s 1969 book of the same name, BoyGirlBoyGirl presents THE FLESH MARKET, premiering January 29, 2010 as part of Curious Theater Branch’s Rhino Fest.

An intrepid reporter for the highly respectable and not-at-all-tabloid-like National Informer, Lawrence penned his scorching exposé THE FLESH MARKET after a hard-hitting probe into newspaper ads of an extremely personal nature.

What followed were mesmerizing “true case histories” of… well, let’s be honest here, smut. Mr. Lawrence set out to write a racy paperback and – by gum! – he did. Key parties, wife swappers, dominatrices, and even (gasp!) homosexuals figure prominently in this series of short semi-pornographic tales made respectable by a wafer thin veneer of investigative journalism. Welcome to the 1970’s, Mr. and Mrs. America!

So what should you expect when BoyGirlBoyGirl tackles THE FLESH MARKET with original monologues and 40 years of sexual revolution hindsight? Secret fetishes? Unspoken desires? A good recipe for white borscht? Why not go see the show and find out?
